How to be a friend – 2 crucial lessons I learned in Mrs. Brook’s 3rd grade class

On 05, Oct 2014 | In Uncategorized | By ReneeBlake

Think about your longest life long friend. Did you choose her? Or were you thrown together because your parents were friends? Or was it simply because you had the same reading level in 3rd grade and so you were seated next to each other during your learning stations?

Either way, you figured it out then: “don’t let this accidental opportunity pass you by.” Its the same now. Whether it be because you end up in the cube next to hers, or maybe she’s married to your husband’s best friend. Congrats, you haven’t forgotten. You still know how to make a good friend, when the situation presents itself.

“I meant what I said, and I said what I meant!” – Dr. Suess

Besides knowing when to seize an opportunity, possibly the best of all the early life lessons, is the ability to be a straight shooter. If a child doesn’t like something, you know it. They don’t dwell and they they don’t candy coat it. Its clear. They call it out and move on. Imagine if adults abandoned the smoke and mirrors. You would know exactly how to address and progress.

Its confirmed. The best ‘good human’ traits were revealed to me when I still loved to draw rainbows and played the violin. Which ones did you learn before your first pimple apeeared?
