Mobile consumers – now more masculine then ever

On 15, Sep 2012 | In Uncategorized | By ReneeBlake

Men shop more than women. Well, they’re doing it more on their phones, that is.

Market research is revealing that men have now surpassed women in making mobile purchases. They are significantly more likely than women to use their smartphone to buy electronics, entertainment, and food.

Also – while women may complain that they cant get their man to share their thoughts personally, men seem to be having no difficulties using their devices to comment on a purchase or write a review of a product.

Marketing to mobile shoppers is still a relatively new practice in general, but many marketers are instinctively targeting their advertising toward women (seeing as women have always “worn the pants” in the shopping community.) However, if you want to run an effective, and relevant campaign, you may want to reconsider how you’re talking to your new, more masculine, consumers.
