Women owning “old school social.”

On 21, Dec 2012 | In Uncategorized | By ReneeBlake

We’ve been talking about women being the decision makers, and the buyer of products for a long time. Now there’s a new twist. New studies show that women are also your brand ambassadors.

It’s “old school social.”

Despite this social digital age that we’re in, most recommendations still happen offline. So we have to look beyond social media to understand how the word is really getting out. Here’s the deal: Women value word of mouth more than men, and therefore do more of it. So it’s no surprise that women are more persuasive than men.

Those who give, naturally like to receive.

Women have about 13 percent more brand conversations each week than men. They are also more likely to take advice from other consumers to be more credible, and therefore are more likely to purchase based on word of mouth.

The power of influence.

Whether the product is intended for men or women, be mindful of the power and social influence that women possess. Surprisingly, men and women both agree: the best brand advice, comes from women.

So just when you think you’ve got the social media game and targeting thing nailed, look again. What would a woman think? Then you’ll truly know how your brand is being “socialized” in the market.
